The main fault of the record-braking inflation, which in seven months has come to 41%, lies with the National Bank of Belarus. But instead, the authorities continue to lie to the public that the reason for the mad rise in prices is the increase in the cost of Russian energy.
"Inflation is at 80% of the monetary component. National bank has to answer for this component. Why does the government always conceals the inflation with the statements about the energy resources, which go up. In Europe there is no oil, no gas, the fuel prices always fluctuate, however the inflation is held under 3%. Only to the illiterate people it is possible to complain about the expensive oil and to inflate the price of food", said in the interview with Belarusian Partisan the source in the banking sector.
Meanwhile the expert noted that Belarus receives the oil at $244 per ton, and neighboring Lithuania at $390.
"Where is this difference vanishes? Russia gives us the oil free of duty, where is this money? Just recently they have introduced the duties on export of Belarusian oil products abroad, while before Belarus took away everything for itself. And even under such subsidies the economy has come in a deplorable state," said the analyst.
According to him, in order to maintain deposits of the population, banks must set the interest rate at least 50% per annum.
"Only then the deposits will be retained, but now all the money is just devaluing. But the question of inflation nobody raises. "We are fine"- proclaim the official media and declares the government," said an anonymous source.
