The euro exchange rate has increased by 1.24 roubles – to 50.82. The local maximum was 51.2 roubles.

The dollar exchange rate has gone up by 86 copecks – to 36.75. This is a new record for the Russian rouble. The previous record was set in Russia on March 6, 2009.

Experts say that the decreasing exchange rate of the Russian rouble is caused by “the tense situation in Ukraine”, BBC reports.
