In Vilnius on May, 30 Belarusian experts and leaders of the opposition met with the members of the working group of International Center for Democratic Transition.
"We discussed the situation in Belarus and analyzed the report "The European alternative for Belarus". The head of the group, Alexander Kwasniewski proposed to hold frank and open discussion. We agreed to continue communication by email and live communication", — chairman of the United Civil Party Anatoly Lebedko said.
According to Anatoly Lebedko, Alexander Kwasniewski and his colleagues supported the idea to prepare a parallel report and wished to receive the document. In the near future, Alexander Kwasniewski will meet with the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana. As a result of this meeting, special note will be prepared.
"Kwasniewski’s group" composed of 16 persons, former heads of states and former foreign ministers. "Members of the group are still influential politicians, some countries and Brussels defer to their opinion. So the content of the final report is very important for us", — Anatoly Lebedko noted.
