UDF Is Most Popular Opposition Brand

The United Democratic Forces is the coalition most mentioned in independent media and the internet. This is evidenced by the data of the media monitoring held by the international youth organisation "Young Front" (Czech Republic) during the four months of 2009.

The monitoring covered 15 most popular non-governmental publications and websites: the web portals "Belpartizan", "Charter-97", "Belarusian News" (naviny.by), "TUT.BY", "Agency of Financial News"; the websites and radio stations of "Radio Liberty", "Radio Racyja" "Euroradio"; the newspapers "Narodnaja vola", "Nasha Niva", "Belarusians and Market", "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus", "Svobodniye Novosti Plus", "Belgazeta"; the Internet newspaper Salidarnasc.

According to the monitoring, from September 1 to December 31, 2009, 316 pieces of news about democratic coalitions were published. 194 items of news (61.4%) were written about the UDF coalition, 84 (26.6%) - about the coalition "Belarusian Independent Bloc", 23 (7.3%) - about the European Coalition, and 15 (4.7%) - about the coalition "New Generation".
