Minsk negotiations results: Donets Basin hostages to be released

The contact group has agreed on releasing most hostages and other people captured in Donets Basin.

Moreover, the contact group agreed that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe would create a mechanism of observation and control when the ceasefire came into power. An agreement on effective control of the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation was also reached in Minsk on Thursday.

Both sides agreed to conduct the next contact group and citizen soldiers’ consultations next week, interfax.by reports.

The contact groups discussed the situation in East Ukraine on Thursday in Minsk. Representatives of Kiev, the OSCE, Russia and the so-called DPR took part in it.
