The early vote will begin on September 6. Polling stations will be open for five days from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

There are 491 candidates, BelaPAN reports. However, two members of the United Civil Party (Uladzimir Katsora and Uladzimir Nyapomnyashchyh) running for MP in Homel decided to withdraw yesterday.

About 25% of voters voted early at the parliamentary election in Belarus in 2012 and 36% – at the presidential election in 2015. The authorities are exercising administrative pressure to make people vote early, independent observers think. They also believe that the early vote is the best opportunity to rig elections.

The parliamentary election is appointed for September 11.
