Today a regular meeting of the leaders of Belarusian left forces took place in Minsk. The meeting was attended by Alexander Bukhvostau, Alena Yaskova, Syarhey Kalyakin, and Anatol Lyaukovich.
As the chairman of the Belarusian Party of the Left "Fair World" Syarhey Kalyakin said to the news portal www.UDF.BY, the meeting resulted in the decision to develop a common platform of the left forces for the upcoming presidential elections.
"The existence of such a document is a good foundation for nomination of the presidential candidate from the left forces", said Mr. Kalyakin.
The meeting also adopted the Statement of Leaders of the Left Forces of Belarus which condemned the attack on the peace convoy carrying humanitarian aid for residents of the Gaza Strip by security forces of Israel.
"The attack on peaceful transport in international waters is a pirate's seizure; the initiators and executors must be held criminally responsible for this, for the death of innocent people", it is said in the document.
