Carl Bildt proposed Ukraine to choose the way of Poland, but not of Belarus

Decision on the further development of Ukraine will depend on the positions of official Kiev. On May 14 Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said, commenting on the proposal of boycotting Ukrainian matches in the final part of the European Football Championship.

According to Bildt, Europe has a more powerful tools than attending or not attending football matches.

"In the end, Ukraine's leaders have to decide whether they want to lead the country towards Poland or in the direction of Belarus. And, accordingly, the impact will depend on their choice. If they want to follow the European path, it will be a benefit to society in Ukraine. If they want to lead the country to Belarus - `okay, they will come to Belarus", UNIAN quoted Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden.

Carl Bildt said, the EU clearly stated Ukraine about the importance of the rule of law, and politics of revenge has no place in European politics.

Today the Council meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels will focus on relations with Ukraine.
