Belarus position on Ukraine to stay unchanged

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has made a statement concerning the Ukrainian events today, on March 12.

A meeting of the Defense Council dedicated to the results of the first stage of checking the Belarusian Armys combat readiness was held in Minsk.

The President commented on the situation in Crimea at the meeting. Belarus position in this situation is based on the the countrys national interests, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said. The Kremlin is not exercising any pressure on him, Lukashenka commented on reports about his resistance to the Kremlins pressure. However, he admitted that he had been constantly contacting the Russian President.

Belarus has not stopped cooperating with Ukraine, the state leader noted.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka supported Ukraines territorial integrity earlier.
