The rally and march during the Freedom Day in Minsk were held under the rain and accompanied by police.
Despite the bad weather and a thorough examination, on the area near the Academy of Sciences about three thousand people gathered. The column of demonstrators marched through Surganova street to Bangalore Square, where a meeting was held.
The events at the Freedom Day were attended by various estimates from 4 to 5 thousand people. Organizers are Viktor Ivashkevich and Vladimir Kolos. Various persons were present at the rally: ex-presidential candidates Grigory Kostusev and Vitaly Rymashevsky, leader of the movement "For Freedom" Alyaksandr Milinkevich, the chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, chairman of "A Just World" Party Sergei Kalyakin, Elena the wife of Sergey Kovalenko on hunger strike, chairman of the BPF Alex Yanukevich, artist and social activist Alex Marochkin, bards Dmitry Vaitsyushkevich and Andrei Melnikov, as well as other opposition activists and public figures.
