Alyaksandr Lukashenka wants economic growth to resume

Euroradio

The Belarusian President has asked the question at a meeting of the Security Council today.

"Have we managed to pass the lowest point of our economic development? When will the economic growth resume? What needs to be done to avoid the situation that resulted in problems? This is the main question the government has to answer,” interfax.by quotes Lukashenka.

The GDP increased by more than 1% in January-April 2014, the President noted. However, it is too early to speak about some positive dynamics because the GDP growth was caused by the home demand, he added. “There are still old sets of issues in our industry and agriculture,” the state leader stressed.

The production is decreasing, the financial state of enterprises is getting worse and the storehouses are still full, he noted.
