The authorities have set new requirements for the Minsk trade.

The share of domestic goods in stores and food service facilities should be 85%, deputy head of the Minsk city executive committee Andrei Damaratski said at a meeting to discuss the consumer market development in Minsk. The meeting gathered more than 400 directors and founders of Minsk retail facilities. The information about the event was published on the official website of the Minsk city executive committee.

According to Damaratski, all retail facilities are able to increase the sales of Belarusian goods.

Retail chains were ordered to improve the service quality. They were given one week to remedy all violations found by controlling agencies during inspections and monitoring. Those who won't fulfil the demands of the Minsk city executive committee will face administrative sanctions, up to the closure of retail facilities.

The opinion that the share of import on the domestic market should not exceed 15% was expressed by Belarusian prime minister Mikhail Miasnikovich on June 18.
