Euroradio

The drop in crude oil prices is a challenge for the Eurasian Economic Union, says Kazakhstan President before meeting Vladimir Putin in Astana.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstani President Nursulatn Nazarbayev are meeting in Astana, RIA Novosti refers to the Kremlin press service. The Presidents have discussed the oil prices. Putin believes that the EAEU leaders should overcome the difficult economic situation together, rusnovosti.ru reports.

The EAEU is experiencing difficult times due to the world oil price drop, Nazarbayev said before the meeting.

“Our union is overcoming its biggest challenge because the export oil prices and the prices for other goods have decreased, especially in Russia and Kazakhstan,” REUTERS quotes Nazarbayev as saying.

The trilateral meeting of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev is also appointed for today. The Presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan met yesterday.
