Soon you will be able to board a train in Minsk and a few hours later get off in Kiev, Minsk, Vilnius or Riga. A new train that will connect capitals of four countries will be launched in September.

For you to reach and explore new destinations.

Plans for the service were first announced last year but the official start date became known on 17 July.

A train of four capitals – Riga-Vilnius-Minsk-Kiev – will start operating on 28 September from Kiev.

The information was made public by Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan.

It was earlier reported that 28 new wagons were specifically purchased from the Ukranian plant.

A new route is now seen as an enticing low cost alternative for the travellers who prefer train journeys to plane.

The ticket in a compartment for the whole route from Kiev to Riga will cost about €59.

For comparison, a rail journey in a compartment from Kiev to Minsk now costs €58, from Minsk to Riga – €63.
