Enterprises In Belarus Will Continue To Work Despite Coronavirus
The enterprises in Belarus will continue to work in normal mode despite the current situation with coronavirus COVID-19 in the country.

Such a decision was announced by Chaiperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus’ National Assembly Natalya Kochanova after she met with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 31 March.

The meeting was dedicated to preparations for the forthcoming presidential election, the economic situation and measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus infection.

According to the official, economic issues are of particular concern to the authorities, particularly, the equal development of regions and the work of each enterprise in the country.

“There’s been a lot of talk to close enterprises because of the coronavirus and stop working. On Saturday, on behalf of our president, I went to the Vitebsk region to look at the real situation with the problem, an infectious disease that came to our country.

The doctors themselves said that business should keep workinng. The economy is a high priority. We understand: the epidemic will pass, the infection will pass, and what will happen to the country?”
she said.

Natalia Kochanova described the situation in the Vitebsk region as absolutely controllable. The president also instructed the chairperson to invite WHO experts to give an assessment of the health care system in the country.

Recall that controversial messages keep coming from Vitebsk. There were rumours that the city and the region are under lockdown and hospitals are overwhelmed with pneumonia patients.

TUT.BY journalists went to the region to witness at first hand what is going on in the city. On 31 March, the first coronavirus-related death was reported in Vitebsk. In other news, Belarus is not going to cancel celebrations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
