Belarus Says Russia Does Not Meet Obligations over Oil Supplies

Euroradio

The State Customs Committee of Belarus has issued a statement over the duty-free oil supplies from Russia to Belarus.

The statement says that the State Customs Committee of Belarus held talks with Russia's Federal Customs Service and proposed options in order to ease the procedures for the shipment of crude oil and petrochemical products. However, "the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation avoided the negotiations on this issue, citing the absence of direct instructions and that the implementation of the agreement between Belarus and Russia on regulating the trade and economic cooperation in the field of the exports of oil and petrochemical products is controlled by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Economic Development".

The Customs Committee of Belarus has described this situation as Russia's failure to meet its obligations over the duty-free oil supplies.
