41% drop in Import of Russian Crude in First Four Months

Belarus' import of Russian crude oil dropped by 41 percent in the first four months of this year compared with the same period of 2009, according to the National Statistics Committee.

The country imported 4,187,900 tons of crude in January through April at an average per ton price of $399, up by 57.2 percent compared with the same period of last year.

Belarus' import of petroleum products plunged by 85.4 percent to 195,900 tons in January through April, while the country's export of such products fell by 38.4 percent to 72,200 tons.

The average price of imported petroleum products jumped by 130.6 percent to $596 per ton, while the average export price soared by 55.6 percent to $570 per ton.
