Minsk counts on Chinese corporations to participate in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus, State Control Committee chairman Zyanon Lomats who also co-chairs the Belarusian-Chinese commission on trade and economic cooperation, said in a statement.
"The construction of a nuclear power plant requires the highest international safety standards. The exchange of experience in the field of peaceful nuclear programs and a possible participation of Chinese corporations in this project are prospective priorities... At least, we hope for that", Lomats said during the meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese commission, talking to Chinese deputy commerce minister Gao Khucheng who co-chairs the commission on behalf of China.
