Today at the central office of Gazprom, the Belarusian-Russian negotiations on a range of bilateral cooperation issues have been resumed.

At the meeting between Alexey Miller and Vladimir Semashko, in accordance with the agreements reached in July, they discussed the conditions of supply and transit of Russian gas. We remind that the negotiations are taking into account the entry of Russia and Belarus from 2012 to the Common Economic Space. Defining the parameters of the new contract will be linked with issues on purchase by Gazprom of 50% of Beltransgaz shares, currently owned by Belarus.

The conclusion of negotiations and signing the new contract on gas supply and transit is planned at the beginning of December 2011.

Information

December 31, 2006, Gazprom and Beltransgaz signed a contract on gas supply and transit in 2007-2011.

The document, in particular, determined the price formula from January 1, 2008 (corresponding to the price formula for Russian gas supply to Europe), as well as lowering the price coefficients for 2008-2010 (0.67, 0.8 and 0.9 respectively). In August 2011 the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian Ministry of Energy and Gazprom to determine the value of the discount coefficients of the gas price for Belarus in 2012. Gazprom owns 50% of Beltransgaz shares.
