Supporting Belarus is one of Russia’s priorities

One of the priority tasks, which Russia sets after joining the World Trade Organization, is to support Kazakhstan and Belarus in their entering the international organization, the blueprint of the strategy for the protection of the national interests of Russia while in the WTO. The Blueprint was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

t the same time, Belarus is among the countries that practice Russian export restraints as of July 1st, 2012. The list also includes Australia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, China, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Moldova, USA, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and also the EU.

This autumn Russia sets to launch an active campaign for lifting the restraints.

On August 21st Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus has to join the World Trade Organization. According to him, life itself makes Belarus to run a massive program, which will allow the country to join the WTO on more favorable terms.
