A comic situation occurred to Red Hot Chili Peppers in Homiel Airport where Belarusian custom officials mistook them for… Metallica.

On July 9, RCHP was expected to perform on the first day of Park Live Festival in Moscow. When the rock idols were flying to Russia from Ukraine where they had participated in U-Park Festival in Kyiv, they had a short transfer in Belarus.

Michael Peter ‘Flea’ Balzary, the bassist, a co-founder and composer of the world-famous rock band, did not manage to persuade the customs officers of their not being Metallica. The musicians even had to sign the photos and CDs of their prominent colleagues:

(UPD) According to the Belarusian Customs Committee, they have nothing in common with the RHCP ‘autograph signing session’. It is the employee of Homiel Airport who asked them to sign Metallica CDs and photos, they state.
