Real Goat Will Head Partisans’ Parade In Minsk On 25 May
A reenactment of the partisans’ parade of 1944 dedicated to the liberation of Minsk from the Nazis will take place on Saturday, 25 May.

A reconstruction of the past in order to mould the future.

Students of different universities dressed up as WWII-era Soviet partisans will march along Kamsamoĺskaja street from 1 pm to 1.30 pm.

Cavalry, partisans, ‘underground workers, the Red Army soldiers and even a goat will take part in the historical parade as it was years ago. It will play the role of another goat named Kid.



With the Nazi crosses across its neck, medals and a German officer’s cap on its horns, Kid led the partisans during a parade at the field of the former Hippodrome in 1944.

By noon, the interactive sites will start working. There will be a district military commissariat, headquarters of the partisan and Komsomol movement, partisan camp and hospital and more.

With the help of virtual reality glasses, one can take part in master classes in drill training, assembly of machine guns, ride a horse, waltz and taste the soldier’s porridge for free.

A music concert and DJs will entertain visitors from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, the website of the BRSM Youth Union reports.

The Belarusian Resistance during World War II opposed Nazi Germany from 1941 until 1944. By the end of the war in Belarus, the number of partisans exceeded 374,000 people.
