The incident took place on April 29 in the Dzeraunaya village. A fighting breed dog attacked a 33-year-old woman who is five months pregnant. The pitbull bit her on hands.
“She woman let the dog out for a walk, and when she wanted to get it back home, she hit it with a shoe. The dog bit the girl at the hand, forcing her to the ground near the house. Whne the animal almost bit the girl’s hand, she lost consciousness. At this point, the neighbors saw them. They drove the dog away and called an ambulance,” the district inspector told Intex-press.
According to the inspector, the woman was alone at home and her boyfriend who owns the dog was at work.
The ambulance took victim to the Central Hospital in Baranavichi, but doctors had to amputate both her hands. According to doctors, the condition of the pregnant woman after the surgery was moderate, but she is in shock. She has not lost the child.
At the hospital, the woman admitted that before the incident she “drank 400 grams of wine”.
The police are looking into the accident. The pitbull is curently kept at home and was tested for rabies. She will be euthanized in 10 days.
