Draft regulation on visa-free regime for residents of the countries that actively invest in Belaru is under consideration by the Council of Ministers. The project was prepared by the National Investment and Privatization Agency (NIPA), ctv.by reports.

The agency has proposed to give residents of these countries an opportunity to stay in Belarus without a visa for 15 days. It is expected that the changes will help to make Belarus more attractive not only for investors but also for tourists.

“We used the experience of certain EAEU states such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. What this has led to can be seen in Kyrgyzstan. Over the year, the export of tourist services increased by 36%, while investments in the country’s economy grew by 68%,” said Natallia Nikandrava, NIPA director.

According to Nikandrava, decision on visa-free regime would improve Belarus’ relations with the EU and would contribute to “simplifiification of visa formalities of EU via-a-vis Belarusian citizens,” says Natallia Nikandrava.
