U.S. News and World Report is out with its annual Best Countries Report. This year Belarus was ranked 73rd best country in the world.

The report evaluated 80 nations across 75 different metrics, using a survey of more than 20,000 global respondents in 36 countries.

It assessed countries’ travel attractivness, business friendliness, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, quality of life, heritage and power, among other factors.



Switzerland takes the top spot seat for the third straight year and is followed by Japan, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom in the top five.

Sweden, Australia, the United States, Norway and France rounded up the top 10. While 2019’s list is largely unchanged in comparison to 2018’s.

Last year Belarus occupied 72nd place, meaning the country slightly moved down in the same ranking.

According to the U.S. News, Belarus scored high for the level of business openness and attractiveness for tourists.

A majority of people said the world has gotten worse this past year and more than 70% expressed the view that nationalism was on the rise, and only one third thought the world was safe.
