President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed condolences to the families of victims of "Pinskdrev" plant explosion just eight days after the tragedy. But the national day of mourning was not declared.

On Wednesday the press-service of the president published the condolences to families and relatives of "Pinskdrev-DSP" employees, affected by the accident at the plant.

"The tragedy, taken the lives of close people, has touched all citizens of Belarus. It's not just your own personal grief, but our common problem and a serious lesson for the future, — says the letter. — Do not be discouraged in this mournful hour. You and all those who was affected by the horrible fire, can always count on the support of the state. We will make every effort to prevent this in our country. I wish you strength and endurance. The fond memory of your family will remain in our hearts forever".

The 3rd and 4th of November were declared to Days of mourning for victims in Brest region.

The tragedy in Pinsk took 14 people on the October 25. But the authorities preferred to keep silent about it the whole week. And while the affected families buried their relatives, entertainment programs were broadcasted in Pinsk, music was played. The leader of the Movement "For Freedom!" Alexander Milinkevich and candidates on the presidential position Andrey Sannikov and Ales Mikhalevich appealed to the president with the suggestion to declare national mourning for the victims.

Authorities stayed indifferent, actually not the first time. In March 2007 on Somalia 11 Belarussians died by the rocket attack – crew member of IL-76 of Belarussian air company "Transaviaexport". This time as well as the three years ago national mourning was not declared. Are more then ten victims not a real loss for the country?
