In the evening of August 22 road police blocked for an hour the traffic in the center of Minsk to hinder the action Stop Petrol against the increase of fuel prices.

Motorists planned to spontaneously gather on the streets, adjacent to Nezavisimosti and Pobediteley Avenues in Minsk, and then to go to the city center in order to block the traffic there.

However, in half an hour before the action began, road police started to send cars to bypass the main streets, which have resulted in a traffic jam for several kilometers. Some drivers honked expressing the protest, and also they turned on the song "Peremen", which became the anthem of the protests in Belarus.
Agents in mufti filmed the protesters and recorded the cars’ registration numbers.

During the action the son of political prisoner and human rights activist Ales Bialiatski Adam was detained. The car was loaded onto a tow truck; they put handcuffs on Adam Bialiatski, seated him into a road police car and took away to an unknown destination.
