Workers went on strike in Barysau - photo

Workers of "Housing" and "Zelenstroy" state-run enterprises in Barysau (Minsk region) went on strike for one and a half days, demanding to increase salary by 30% and to index it every month.

Workers didn't carry out their duties but remained in the workplace.

Chief of "Housing" enterprise Nikolay Sharhun, representatives of Barysau District Executive Committee and a member of State Control Committee met with the strikers.

After negotiating the strike was over. The enterprise management has promised to raise salaries and to pay 500 thousand rubles everyone to buy vegetables.

During his professional work, Alexander Zenkov the photojournalist of ex-press.by website was detained. He was making a photo report of the strike and was detained "for identification".
