Today EU leaders will discuss the situation in Belarus

This will happen during the EU summit, which takes place in Brussels. The plans were announced yesterday by the European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, Reuters informs.

We remind, that between the EU and Belarus the so-called "diplomatic war" is continuing. After the recall by the authorities of Belarus its representative to the EU and the ambassador to Poland, and also proposals for the EU Delegation in Minsk and the Polish ambassador to go to consultation to their capitals, Brussels has taken the retaliatory measures, Euroradio reminds.

From Belarus the EU ambassadors were recalled, at the end of March the foreign ministers of 27 EU countries will consider the issue to expand sanctions against Belarus, as well as the inclusion in the "black list" several Belarusian businessmen and companies.

Yesterday, it became known that in the next Ministerial Council meeting in March, the EU intends to expand the EU sanctions against Belarus. In the "black list" 4-Belarusian businessmen, working closely with Alexander Lukashenko, will be included.

According to EUobserver, "the personal friend of Alexander Lukashenko - real estate tycoon Yuri Chizh (head of "Triple" group and the owner of Dynamo (Minsk) football club) - is the prime candidate, but other names can be added too, namely, Moshensky Alexander (head of the "Santa Impex Brest"), Alexander Shakutin (chairman of the Board of Directors of "Amkodor") and Pavel Topuzidis (head of "Tabak-Invest" and the owner of hypermarkets network "Korona")".
