Political Council of the United Civil Party (UCP) proposed to hold one Congress of Pro-Democracy forces instead of two pro-European Congresses.

"The Congress of Pro-Democracy Forces could adopt any document and strategy with European content"
, - UCP chairman Anatoly Lebedko said.

According to him, the UCP will discuss this initiative with the subjects of the United Democratic Forces, structures that are not part of the UDF, and with those who support pro-European Congresses. We want to remind that pro-European Congress was initiated by the representatives of the European coalition. But during the negotiations the organizers had differences with the movement "For Freedom". Its leader Alexander Milinkevich proposed to hold another pro-European Congress.

UCP believes that it would be logical to hold the Congress of Pro-Democracy Forces in autumn. "The format of the Congress allows to discuss not only the issues of the European integration and relations with the European Union, but and other important problems", - the chairman of the UCP noted.

According to him, the Congress of Pro-democracy forces could adopt the document concerning European integration, as well as number of other documents, in particular, the document concerning the relationship between the government and the opposition, to analyze the results of the democratic forces, to discuss forthcoming elections and the Anti-crisis proposals of the UDF.

"These issues are also very important. The representatives of all democratic forces should discuss them", - Anatoly Lebedko said.
