Leader of the United Civil Party, chairman of the National Committee of the United Democratic Forces Anatoly Lebedko congratulated Angela Merkel and the leader of the Free Democrats Guido Westerwelle with a victory in parliamentary elections.
"The results of the parliamentary elections could lead to changes in German policy regarding Belarus" - Anatoly Lebedko said.
It should be reminded that Merkel’s CDU and its Bavaria-only sister, the Christian Social Union, won 33.8 percent of the vote and the Social Democrats took 23 percent. The Free Democrats captured 14.6 percent, the Left Party 11.9 percent and the Greens 10.7 percent.
