Presidential candidate in the 2010 elections Andrei Sannikov was released from prison "Vitba-3" on the basis of Alexander Lukashenko's decree for a pardon. He informed reporters about this in Vitebsk on April 14.

Sannikov said he was summoned to the colony's administration at about half past five in the evening and was told to collect things. The politician did not rule out that he will be transferred once again to another prison, as it has been happening many times. However, Sannikov was announced he is released under the president's decree for clemency. Documents and personal belongings were given back to him, and he was taken from the colony to the railway station, where he contacted the family by a pay phone.

Then, social activist Sergei Parsyukevich came to the station for Sannikov, who took him to his home. There the free politician met with reporters.
