Unknown individuals hoisted a Ukrainian flag at the top of the Stalin-era building on Kotelnicheskaya embankment in Moscow overnight, news agency Interfax reports. They went up the inner stairs to the top floor and mounted the flag on the spire. Moreover, they made an attempt to paint the star of its spire in yellow and blue, the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
The police have already removed the flag. Several young men with mountaineering equipment, who may be behind this incident, have been detained, law enforcement agencies state. At the moment police officers are questioning a guard who was keeping watch last night.
