Belarusian leader said that the Kaliningrad region of Russia is a "zone of Belarusian responsibility."

At a press conference for Russian regional media, a journalist from Kaliningrad asked Alyaksandr Lukashenka if Belarus could help the Russian enclave with food supplies. "There are problems with fruit, vegetables, meat," the Russian journalist said to Lukashenka.

"If there are problems, it is only because the leadership of the region does not act ... Come to us, we'll figure it out. We'll fully provide Kaliningrad with all the necessary things... If you are surrounded there," Lukashenka said to the journalist from Kaliningrad.

The President also noted that for Belarus Kaliningrad is a special territory. It has been this way since Soviet times, when, according to Lukashenka, they even wanted to include Kaliningrad in the BSSR.
