Katlyarou: 75% of initiative groups unable to collect enough signatures

Vital Ruhain, Euroradio

75% of the registered initiative groups will not be able to collect 100 thousand signatures for their contenders, director of the Institute for Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences Ihar Katlyarou told ONT.

The most effective and difficult means of colleting signatures is visiting flats, he said.

Katlyarou: "It is very difficult to collect signatures. People rarely open the door. However, if you are allowed to enter a flat, there is a 50% chance to get a signature.”

The signature collection will start in Belarus on July 23. The CEC has registered 8 initiative groups: the groups of President Alyaksandr Lukashenka, leader of the Belarusian party of the left Fair World Syarhei Kalyakin, leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party Syarhei Haidukevich, leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, representative of the coalition People’s Referendum Tatstsyana Karatkevich, unemployed Zhanna Ramanouskaya, Cossack ataman and leader of the Belarusian Patriotic Party Mikalai Ulahovich and economist Victar Tsyareshchanka.
