The Investigation Committee will not open criminal proceedings over allergic reaction Viktar Tsyareshchanka experienced after drinking a carrot shake.

Viktar Tsyareshchanka’s demand to start a criminal case for poisoning has been rejected, belprauda.org reports. The final diagnosis is ‘acute Quincke's edema, improvement’. The edema is the result of an allergic reaction that leads to the rapid swelling of the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, mucosa and submucosal tissues of the face and neck.

Presidentail contender Victar Tsyareshchanka and the head of his election team were having a breakfast in a café in Karl Marx Street in Minsk on August 28. Tsyareshchanka sipped a fresh cocktail several times and ‘his face got swollen and white literally five minutes later’. An ambulance arrived and Tsyareshchanka was taken to hospital. Victar Tsyareshchanka was sure that he had been poisoned.
