Being a member of the parliament is not an easy job but hard work, Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenka said on Monday when meeting with Uladzimir Andreychanka, Chairman of the lower chamber of Belarus’ parliament.

Lukashenka made a point of the employment of current MPs.

“There can be some wishes concerning the employment of the MPs, who are quitting the parliament but not the political life. I want you to make sure that the MPs, who leave the parliament, will find their place in life. There are MPs we cannot lose,” the president said.

In turn, Speaker Andreychanka informed Alyaksandr Lukashenka that they had already found employment for 21 MPs out of 28.

On September 11, the 2016 parliamentary elections were held in Belarus. The voter turnout was 74.32%.
