UK Prince to visit Belarus next week
Prince Michael of Kent, a member of the British Royal Family, will pay a working visit to Belarus on 10 to 13 October.

The visit was announced by the spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik on 6 October, BelTA reports.

“The Prince is involved in consultancy, business and charity activities in a number of countries. For instance, several international non-profit road safety initiatives are conducted under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent,” Dmitry Mironchik noted.

The program of the visit includes both business and cultural encounters.

Prince Michael of Kent will meet with Belarusian government officials and visit the Hi-Tech Park. His Royal Highness will also pay visits to Khatyn memorial, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, and the National Arts Museum.

“The visit of the member of the British Royal Family will contribute to the development of our trade and economic cooperation and strengthening of the cultural ties between Belarus and the United Kingdom,” the spokesperson said.

Prince Michael of Kent is a paternal first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, being a grandson of King George V and Queen Mary. Prince Michael occasionally carries out royal duties representing the Queen at some functions in Commonwealth realms outside the United Kingdom. Otherwise, he manages his own consultancy business and undertakes various commercial work around the world.
