Belarus fails to support Russia’s attempt to delete resolution on Ukraine from OSCE PA agenda
At a meeting of the organizing committee of the PA OSCE session, the head of the Russian delegation, Deputy State Duma Speaker Peter Tolstoy spoke out against the draft resolution on the restoration of the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine, the Ukrainian service of RFE/RL reports.

Belarus has not upheld Russia’s position.

The Ukrainian side submitted the draft resolution ‘Restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine’. Russia called its 36 items ‘lying’.

“Russia is dead set against the draft ‘sovereignty restoration’ resolution proposed by Ukraine. “We believe that a country without sovereignty does not have the right to be represented at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly,” Pyotr Tolstoy, Head of the Russian delegation to the OSCE PA,” told Russian journalists on Wednesday.

The best part of participants failed to voice approval of Russia’s stance.

“Our dear colleagues, including colleagues from Belarus, have not supported our position on the Ukrainian resolution,” Tolstoy told pro-Kremlin news agency Sputnik.

Thus, the draft resolution will be considered and will become part of the OSCE resolution ‘Strengthening of mutual trust and cooperation for peace and prosperity in the OSCE region’.

In the document, Kyiv is urging Moscow to give Crimea back and follow the agreements on Donbas. It also states that some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions are under the control of Russian hybrid forces.
