Belarusian Partisan blocked by the Ministry of Information has resumed work in the .by domain. The name and design of the website have not changed. “We could change the name a little or use a similar domain name. Yet, we do not want to play this stupid hide-and-seek game imposed by the authorities who are blocking independent information resources without any warning and explanation,” people behind the project said in online statement.

The official reasons for the blocking of www.belaruspartisan.org are unknown, the editorial staff of Belarusian Partisan noted. Officials have not pointed at the articles, materials or pictures containing ‘forbidden information’.

On 14 December 2017, the Ministry of Information blocked access to the Belarus Partisan website (belaruspartisan.org). According to the ministry's statement on its website, the decision was taked on the grounds of Article 511 (1) in the Law on Mass Media.

"The decision is based on the results of monitoring this online resource, which was found to violate the media law systematically. This website, registered outside the national segment of the Internet, regularly publishes materials containinig banned information," the Ministry's statement says.

News about the problems with accessing Belarus Partisan first appeared on the evening of 14 December when clients of several internet service providers complaining. In the morning of 15 December, a mobile service and internet provider Velcom said it did not block access to this website.
