The other day the organizers of the “Immortal Regiment” action in Minsk spread information that they had not received permission to conduct a procession from the city authorities. In their special statement the organizers accused the Minsk City Executive Committee of “undermining the ideological foundations of the Union State of Belarus and Russia”, “nationalism” and the support of collaborators.

The organizers who joined the Coordinating Council of the Left-Patriotic Forces “Unity” appealed to Alyaksandr Lukashenka “to support the holding of the international action” Immortal Regiment “, by resolving this issue urgently.”

“Immortal Regiment” is an international public action that takes place on May 9 in 80 countries of the world. During the action, the participants march in a column and carry portraits of soldiers who fought on the side of the USSR during the Second World War. The action is officially supported and conducted by the Russian authorities, in 2015 the Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the march in Moscow.
