Special commission to check ‘foreign media products’ distributed in Belarus

The government has approved the procedure for experts’ examining ‘foreign media products’ for compliance for Belarusian legislation.
The corresponding resolution (Nr 805) of the Council of Ministers of Belarus was adopted on November 9, 2018.
All foreign media products will be subject to such examination, government.by reports. To have an opportunity of imparting some content in Belarus, a potential distributor will have to ask the Information Ministry for permission. Their products will be examined by a special comission led by Deputy Information Minister Pavel Lyohki.
The Commission will check content for propaganda of drug use, war, extremist activities, information about manufacture of explosives.
