Yarmoshyna: We will not show ballot-papers to observers

Observers will not see every ballot-paper at this year’s parliamentary lection, CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna announced at a press conference on September 12.

It would be necessary to add the corresponding amendments to the Election Code to change the current procedure, Radio Liberty quotes the official. However, it is impossible to do it before the election appointed for November 17.

30 long-term and 400 short-term OSCE observers are expected to arrive, Yarmoshyna reported. There will also be 30 CIS observers.

The Central Election Commission has accredited seven observers representing parties and civil associations and 261 – representing district and territorial commissions.
