U.S. Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale set off for the Kurapaty Tract after a meeting with Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Tuesday evening, September 17.
The politician visited the historical site to remember the tragic fate of the victims of tyranny and terror, US Embassy to Minsk reports on Twitter. He noted Belarus’s sacrifice in its struggle for independence. Such events should never happen again, the U.S. Undersecretary resolved.
David Hale also met with Belarus’s political opposition and civil society later. He expressed America’s enduring commitment to human dignity and fundamental democratic principles.
