Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin arrived in Minsk on the morning of 22 October, TUT.BY reports.

“Sergey Naryshkin is in Minsk today. He is the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. A meeting with the president will begin in an hour,” the Pul Pervy telegram channel confirmed this information.

Recall that earlier, Naryshkin stated that inspectors from the Pentagon and the CIA are involved in preparing the protests in Belarus.

He also said that the SVR has information about the preparation of a resonant provocation in Belarus, “during which one of the high-profile clergy of the Roman Catholic Church would be arrested or even wounded or killed”.

“They expect this will significantly increase anti-government sentiment among Catholics and spur them on to more active participation in street protests,” Naryshkin said.
