Belarus is ready to forget all offenses of the past and to start an effective cooperation with the USA in the economic and other fields. Alyaksandr Lukashenka claimed it at a meeting with the administrations of a number of large-scale American companies on March 29.

Lukashenka hopes to normalize relations with the new US administration. "We have started a cautious dialogue with the current administration and are ready to offer our friendship to American partners", - claimed the Belarusian leader. However, he doubted the possibility of starting a civilized and effective dialogue while one of the sides is put under open pressure.

In the opinion of the Belarusian leader, spot sanctions directed against certain Belarusian enterprises imposed by the administration of George Bush Jr. are still creating a negative background for the development of the whole complex of trade and economic relations between the two states.

Lukashenka also welcomed the creation of the Council for business cooperation of Belarus and the USA. BelTA notes that America initiated the idea of uniting businessmen of the two countries.
