Alyaksandr Lukashenka plans to attend an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state in Ukraine's Crimea province on July 10.

The meeting will be held at Livadia Palace in the Black Sea resort of Yalta on the occasion of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's 60th birthday.

When reached by BelaPAN, the Ukrainian leader's administration said that Mr. Lukashenka and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had confirmed their participation in the event.

Serhiy Lyovochkin, head of the Ukrainian president's administration, said earlier this week that the agenda of the meeting would be topped by investments in Crimea, a popular holiday destination, and the development of its recreational and transport infrastructure.

Mr. Yanukovych, who was elected president this past February, turns 60 on July 9.
