Alyaksandr Lukashenka has informed again, that he is not going to follow the conditions proposed by the European Union to him.

During the working visit to Homel region the Belarusian leader stated that he would develop partnership both with Russia and the West.

"No changes or U-turns can take place here. () We have a multiple-vector policy. All the rest is idle gossip," Alyaksandr Lukashenka said, Radio Svaboda informs.

"Russia has always been and will be our brotherly nation. And the West is a technologically advanced region, half of the trade, and that sums it up," Lukashenka said.

He finds it possible to join the Word Trade Organisation as a union of thee counties, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

"Let's wait and see. It would be fine if our plans would turn out well. Even if we won’t join the WTO now, this customs union is still profitable for us," the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenka has also told about his problems with the West.

"While we have virtually no major problems with Russia, you know our relations with the West. If the West wants to cooperate with us using the principles it applies in cooperation with other nations, we will gladly do it," Lukashenka stated.

"I’ve already mentioned what is unacceptable: if someone is eager to destroy the country and break the policy it pursues, then we cannot work together with any political force, any state".

We remind that trial period for the Belarusian authorities by the EU ends in November. Depending on the situation with democracy in Belarus, in November the question of extending or suspension of sanctions of the EU against the Belarusian regime will be solved. The authorities in Belarus must release political prisoners, stop repressions against the opposition, give freedom to mass media and NGOs, make changes to the Electoral Code for free and democratic elections to be possible in the country. None of these conditions has been fulfilled yet.
