The member of the National Committee of United Civil Party, Dmitry Bondarchuk from Grodno and three of his cellmates started the hunger strike in Detention Center.

According to Yury Istomin, the chairman of UCP’s regional organization in Grodno, Bondarchuk has already lodged a complaint from Detention Center to Public Persecutor’s Office and to the court, concerning the unfair detention and sentencing.

"I’ve contacted the relatives of Dmitry, and they said he accepted everything except food, - says Yuri Istomin. – I’ve been on Saturday, delivered things and talked to a shift supervisor of Detention Center. He said that there were three of them who starved. They had a doctor, and prosecutors brought this case under control.

I asked to convey, that they should not starve, but it's his decision. He is stable courageous guy – the one who makes decisions. There is a ban to see him. His girlfriend wanted to meet him, to dissuade from hunger strike, but she was not allowed to do it."

Let us remind, the member of the National Committee of UCP Dmitry Bondarchuk was arrested on July 6 in Grodno during the tacit protest action. On July 7 the court of Oktiabrsky district of Grodno sentenced him to 10 days in jail.
