Lithuania appoints new Ambassador to Belarus

Former Defense Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius will become the new ambassador of his country to Belarus.

Linas Linkevičius will replace Edminas Bagdonas, who is occupying this post since 2007, on July 24. The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Lithuanian Seimas has approved his candidacy.

Linas Linkevičius was born in 1961 in Vilnius. In 1993-1996 and 2000-2004 he headed the Defense Ministry of Lithuania, in 2005-2011 he was the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to NATO.
